AWS Revised Curriculum Makes S.E.N.S.E.

NCCER announces the release of its latest Contren® Learning Series curriculum— Welding Level One/AWS Entry Level Welder—Phase One, prepared in cooperation with the American Welding Society (AWS). Published with full color illustrations and photographs and presented in an easy-to-use format, the new curriculum complies with the AWS’s Schools Excelling through National Skill Standards Education or S.E.N.S.E. program.

"The Contren® AWS Welding curriculum is as close as it comes to being ‘turn-key’ in the welding training field. I’m pleased with how closely it aligns with AWS," says Curtis Casey, CWI, CWE, & AWS S.E.N.S.E. school instructor, Northern Arizona Vocational Institute of Technology.

"AWS Entry Level Welder Phase One & Two provide a complete curriculum to help the student fulfill the competency requirements of the AWS QC-10 and AWS EG2.0-95 Guidelines," adds Casey.

When used in addition to AWS Entry Level Welder—Phase Two (published separately), the AWS Entry Level Welder—Phase One complies with all AWS documents specified in part 3.3 Learning Modules of AWS EG2.0-95 and should aid the participating S.E.N.S.E. school in certifying a trainee as an AWS Entry Level Welder.

AWS was founded in 1919 and leads the way in supporting welding education and technology development to ensure a strong, competitive and exciting way of life for all Americans.
