Comparison shopping for computer software

Assume you want to buy voice recognition software for your own use. Products you might purchase include:
Naturally Speaking from Dragon Systems: http://www.dragonsystems.com/
Via Voice from IBM: http://www.software.ibm.com/is/voicetype/us_prods.html
Voice Xpress from Lernout and Hauspie: http://www.kurzweil.com/

  1. Visit the Web sites of Dragon Systems, IBM, and Lernout and Hauspie to find out about their products. Assuming that you would definitely buy one of these products for your own use, which product would you purchase and why?

  2. Note the list price of the product you selected and look at a shopping site to see whether you could buy it at a cheaper price. Look at CNET or another computer-related shopping site that compares the prices offered by different distributors of computer-related products. Use that site's ability to search for lowest prices. CNET's address is: http://www.cnet.com/
Among the many other sites for computer-related shopping (but not necessarily comparison shopping) are:
    www.buycomp.com
    www.softwarestreet.com
    www.computerwarehouse.com
    www.egghead.com

  3. In general, what would determine whether a computer hardware or software product could be sold successfully on the Web?
