International Organizational Behavior
Chapter 1: The Management of International Organizational Behavior

Welcome to the Website for International Organizational Behavior: Text, Readings, Cases, and Skills. International Organizational Behavior is an important topic because it explains from a cross-cultural perspective the effect of culture on the management and behavior in organizations. Because of the rapid change in many societies and consequently organizations within them, International OB is a dynamic area of study. For example, in the short time since the publication of International Organizational Behavior, an economic crisis has occurred in Asian societies that challenges their cultures and affects management and behavior in major organizations.

The World Wide Web is especially useful for exploring International Organizational Behavior because it focusses on cross-cultural behavior and the influence of cultures on each other. The Web is an indispensable tool for locating information on different cultures and current issues that influence a single culture or the entire globe. The Web contains basic information on all cultures and countries in the world, news stories on events in countries that effect organizational behavior, the home pages of many companies around the world, academic research journals, and the activities of organizational consultants.
