Installing Designer 2000 on Windows 95/98

Insert the Designer 2000 CD into your CD-ROM drive. Open Windows Explorer and expand the CD-ROM drive(Figure 2.1). Run setup.exe and the Oracle splash screen appears (Figure 2.2).

Choose a location for the installation. The default home you choose during the Oracle7 installation must be used (Figure 2.3). Designer 2000 will prompt for installation options. Leave all of the defaults and select the Show Advanced Options Dialog (Figure 2.4).

Because Oracle7 installed many of the tools necessary, choose the Only Install New... option and deselect all of the Customization options for a "quiet" installation. Make sure Import/Export v7.3 is selected (Figure 2.5).

Oracle now begins to install the Designer 2000 files. Oracle flashes a reminder that the latest versions of toolsets will be installed (Figure 2.6). Click OK. Oracle then flashes a dialog regarding the installation of system support files (Figure 2.7). Click OK. When completed, Designer 2000 signals that it is finished and that you need to install Developer to fully use all of the functionality of Designer 2000 (Figure 2.8). Installation of Designer 2000 is now complete (Figure 2.9).
