Graphics Lab Projects
Complete and turn in the following Graphics projects as directed by your instructor. Graphics Tutorials Create a folder called GRAPHICS (a subdirectory \GRAPHICS in Windows 3.1 and MS-DOS) on your work diskette. Run the draw or paint graphics program and complete any hands-on tutorials that come with it. Look for a Tutorials entry in the Help pull-down menu. Repeat the tutorial(s), if available, until you feel comfortable with the program's features and functionality. LOGO Graphic: Creating a Logo Start a graphics program and make the GRAPHICS folder on your work diskette the default folder. Use graphics software to design and create a logo for BrassCo Enterprises, similar to the one shown in Figure 6. First, use the line and object drawing tools in the graphics software tool kit to create the three geometric shapes. Make each shape approximately 1 inch high. Fill each shape with a different color. Use the line tool to add the four lines that enclose the geometric shapes. Make the horizontal lines the same color. Make the vertical lines two different colors. Use the text tool in the graphics software tool kit to add the letters BC and E in an 18 point boldface, italic font of your choosing. Position the letters as shown in Figure 6. Save the image to the GRAPHICS folder on your work diskette as LOGO and print it. LTRHEAD Graphic: Creating a Letterhead Start a graphics program and make the GRAPHICS folder on your work diskette the default folder. Open the LOGO graphic file and display the graphic image. Save the graphic image as LTRHEAD. Use the text tool in the graphics software tool kit to add BrassCO Enterprises (14pt. boldface, italic) in a font of your choosing. Position the letters as shown in Figure 6. Use the text tool to add 1223 Marks Blvd. Jackson, MS 39202 (8pt. boldface) as shown in Figure 6. Save and print LTRHEAD. DRAWING Graphic: An Original Drawing Start a graphics program and make the GRAPHICS folder on your work diskette the default folder. Create an original image for any purpose that uses at least six different tools from the graphics software tool kit. Save the graphic image as DRAWING to the GRAPHICS folder on your work diskette and print it. LABELS Graphic: Labels Start a graphics program and make the GRAPHICS folder on your work diskette the default folder. Open the DRAWING graphic file and display the graphic image. Save the graphic image as LABELS. Add labels to your original drawing showing which tools were used to create the image and where they were used. Use the text tool to create the labels. Use the line tool to link the use of the tool with its label. Save the graphic image as LABELS to the GRAPHICS folder on your work diskette and print it.
