Hazel Tank's Word Lists - Podiatry

Podiatry Words

A large number of the words dealt with in podiatry dictation can be found in the various orthopedic word books that are currently on the market. Specific terms referring to podiatric medicine, however, are usually sandwiched in between other orthopedic and dermatology words and can prolong your research. Such lists usually do not contain specialized OTC foot-care products. The list below limits itself to podiatry spelling words, and words regarding foot-care products, both prescribed and over the counter (OTC). There are also a few brand names of certain everyday shoes which patients might be wearing or may be recommended (or not) by the doctor. These are the words most often used by DPMs (doctors of podiatric medicine), who specialize in surgical and clinical treatment of the feet and toenails. It is to be hoped that as such it will simplify your research for words in this subspecialty. Regarding fungi, most that are specific to the feet are listed below; additional fungus names may be found in the separate list of fungi.
