Hyperbolic Functions

The hyperbolic sine (sinh), hyperbolic cosine (cosh) and hyperbolic tangent (tanh) functions and their inverses are found in a variety of menus and in the catalog.

Press MENU 1 to access the RUN-MAT menu. Press OPTN to view the menu options, press F6 to see more, then press F2 to select HYP to view the hyperbolic functions menu. Press the appropriate number 1-6 to select the hyperbolic function of choice.

For example, let's calculate cosh(7). Press 2 to select 2:cosh, then enter ( 7 ) EXE.

To graph a hyperbolic function, press MENU 3 to access the equation editor. Press OPTN to view the options menu, press F4 to select HYP and access the hyperbolic functions menu, then press the appropriate number 1-6 to select the hyperbolic function of choice. For example, we graph the hyperbolic sine function, sinh. Press 1 to select 1:sinh, then enter ( X ) EXE. Press ESC to return to the graph menu, press F6 to see more options, then press F5 to select DRAW and view the graph.

Press CTRL 0 to toggle on and off the graph menu at the bottom of the screen.
