You can easily solve equations using the Casio graphing calculator. The key
decision for the user is whether to work in the real or the complex number system.
For example, let’s solve the quadratic equation, 2x^{2 }- 5x + 12 = 0.

Press **MENU 9** to access the CAS screen.
To solve the equation in the real number system, press **CTRL
SETUP** to access the set up menu, highlight Answer Type:, then press
**F1** to set the answer type to Real. After the set up options are made, press
**EXE** to return to the CAS screen. Press **F1**
to access the TRNS menu, then press **4** to select 4:solve**.** Enter the
equation, then press **,** (comma) **X** **)** **EXE**.
The equal sign is located above the decimal point key. The Casio responds with
No Solution, indicating that this quadratic equation has no real roots.

To obtain the complex roots, press **CTRL SETUP**
to access the set up menu, highlight Answer Type:, press **F2** to set the
