Press MODE. Navigate to Display Digits.
Press the blue right thumb pad arrow to access the Display Digits option. Select your option from the pop-up menu. The two basic options are FIX and FLOAT.
In the fix option, you specify how many places past the decimal point for display of decimal numbers. The option 1:FIX 0 displays answers to the nearest integer. For example, to have numbers displayed and rounded to 6 digits past the decimal point, select 7:FIX 6. The screen at right displays the resulting answers for 19/8 (located above ENTER). |
In the float option, you specify the maximum number of significant digits to display for decimal numbers. The option E:Float displays answers up to 12 significant digits. For example, select M:FLOAT 8. The screen at right displays the resulting answers for 19/8 and for the square root of 17 with the float 8 option. To view a decimal approximation for any exact answer calculation, press (located above ENTER). |
