Evaluate Option

The value of a function is found by using the F(x) option.

While viewing a graph, press to view the math menu.

Move the cursor to the desired x coordinate and press to select the F(x) option.

The y coordinate of the function appears at the bottom of the screen and is added to the stack. Here, the value is at about 0.538.

Note: If there is more than one function the HP will evaluate only the first function. To rotate through functions select Next Equation by pressing in the math menu. The first equation will be put at the end of the list and all others move up one spot.

To evaluate the function for a very spicific value of x go to the stack and put the desired value on the top.

Type the name of the indepentant variable, probably x, as an algebraic expression (ie. 'X') and type .

Type EQ then . If there is more than one equation, drop the stack until you get to the equation you wish to evaluate and press . The value of the equation for that particular x will be put onto the stack.
