The minimum option is used to find a relative minimum. While viewing a graph, press

Since a function may have more than one relative minimum, it is necessary
to specify an interval containing the desired low point on the graph.
The question "LeftBound?" appears at the bottom of the screen. Use the
to move the blinking cursor to the
left of the relative maximum. Press

The question "RightBound?" appears at the bottom of the screen. Use the
to move the blinking cursor to the
right of the relative maximum. Press

The TI-86 will look for the relative maximum between the triangular markers.
The question "Guess?" appears at the bottom of the screen.

Move the blinking cursor
close to the relative minimum. Press

The coordinates of the minimum appear at the bottom of the screen.
In this case the maximum point is about (6, -18.25).
