The root option is used to find an x intercept. While viewing a graph, press

Since a function may have more than one x intercept, specify an interval
containing the desired x intercept. The question "LeftBound?"
appears at the bottom of the screen. Use the
to move the bliniking cursor to the left
of the desired x intercept. Press

The question "RightBound?"
appears at the bottom of the screen. Use the
to move the bliniking cursor to the right
of the desired x intercept. Press
.

The question "Guess?"
appears at the bottom of the screen. Move the bliniking cursor close
to the desired x intercept. Press
.

The coordinates of the x intercept appear at the bottom of the screen. In this case
the x intercept is about 2.28. Notice the y coordinate is given in scientific notation.
The value of y is approximately zero.
