Maximum Option
The maximum option is used to find a relative maximum. While viewing a graph, press

(The maximum option can also be obtained by using the

Since a function may have more than one relative maximum, specify an interval
containing the desired low point on the graph. (The "3" in the upper right-hand
corner indicates finding a relative maximum on the graph of the third function.)

The question "Lower Bound?" appears at the bottom of the screen.
Use the
to move the blinking cursor
to the left of the relative maximum. Press
.

The question "Upper Bound?" appears at the bottom of the screen. Use the
to move the blinking
cursor to the right of the relative maximum.
Press
.

The coordinates of the maximum appear at the bottom of the screen. In this
case the maximum point is (0,5).
Note: The maximum option finds the maximum within a specified interval
within 0.00001 even if the graph never reaches a turning point.
