I. Entering Functions to Graph on the TI-89

A. Polynomial Functions

To enter a function you must access the y=Editor. You can press or . You will see a screen similar to the one on the left below.

Example: Enter the polynomial as shown below. Once the function is entered, you can enter more functions.

Polynomial functions are relatively easy to enter on the TI-89. Generally, you don't need parentheses around rational or radical coefficients. However, you may wish to include them to help you see the definition more clearly. The calculator may omit the parentheses when the function is entered.
