For a reversible Carnot engine operating between tex2html_wrap_inline21 and tex2html_wrap_inline23 , whose working fluid is two moles of a monatomic ideal gas, if tex2html_wrap_inline25 is exactly one-half tex2html_wrap_inline27 , obtain an expression for tex2html_wrap_inline29 in terms of tex2html_wrap_inline31 and assorted numerical constants. Point A in this Carnot cycle, according to our usage, is the `corner' where the volume is smallest at tex2html_wrap_inline21 . Point B is on the same isotherm. Point C is connected to Point B by a reversible adiabatic expansion and lies on the tex2html_wrap_inline23 isotherm..

Use the letter `a' to stand for tex2html_wrap_inline31 , `b' for tex2html_wrap_inline27 , etc..
