Note on Ancillary Materials
Instructors who adopt Along These Lines may order the following materials to supplement their instruction:
Instructor's Manual (ISBN 0-13-759853-X), containing answers to exercises, sample syllabi, and suggestions for using Along These Lines;
Exercise booklet (ISBN 0-13-759879-3), containing additional exercises for all parts of Along These Lines: the rhetoric, reading, and grammar sections;
The Writer's Solution, an interactive writing program containing two CDs. One is Language Lab, an interactive grammar tutorial, while the other, Writing Lab, offers practice in the development of writing skills through each of the rhetorical modes.
The Writer's Toolkit, a disk-based program based on The Writer's Solution Writing Lab CD. It contains a multitude of writing exercises designed to help students become better writers.
PH Diagnostic Tests for Developmental Writing, a testing program available in MAC (ISBN 0-13-616426-9), WIN (ISBN 0-13-621640-4), and DOS (ISBN 0-13-616434-X) formats, and in a booklet format (ISBN 0-13-621657-9). It is designed to allow instructors to create their own tests based on level or geared toward testing a specific skill or set of skills. It is free to instructors upon adoption of Along These Lines.
Prentice Hall's Blue Pencil software (ISBN 0-13-759861-0), an interactive editing program allowing students to practice their writing by making revisions in paragraph-length passages on their computer screen;
Prentice Hall/Simon and Schuster's Transparencies for Writers (ISBN 0-13-703209-9), which covers grammar, punctuation, and mechanics via overlays that show how sentence and paragraph errors can be corrected more effectively.
