To take full advantage of all that the The Blair Handbook E-Book has to offer, it is suggested that you use Netscape 4.7, or Internet Explorer 6.0. If you do not have the correct browser, follow the links below to download the correct version.

  • To download Netscape, click here, choose Netscape Navigator 4.7, and follow the instructions to download and install it.
  • To download Internet Explorer, click here, and choose 5.0 and follow the instructions to download and install it.

The Blair Handbook online textbook uses Adobe's Acrobat Reader to present the full text of the book online. Here's what you need to know to make the most of this resource:

To use The Blair Handbook E-Book you MUST have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or higher. To download Adobe Acrobat Reader, click here.

In addition to the navigation of the Acrobat Reader plugin, we have provided some navigation to allow you to view the Table of Contents, search the The Blair Handbook Index either alphabetically or by keywords, and search the Table of Contents by Rule. For more information on using the Search features, see How to Search.

If you have the Adobe Acrobat Reader and you click on any chapter or page number in the Table of Contents, Index, or use the Search by Rule Feature, the Acrobat Reader plugin will load into your browser window and download the file you've selected. For example, if you are in Chapter 38, select The Blair Handbook E-book, and select a link to view Chapter 38, your browser will look something like this.

Note that there are two sets of controls for the Adobe Acrobat Reader plugin; a main control bar with various tools across the top of the plugin and a second, smaller control bar with document information across the bottom. The controls are as follows:

    - proceed to the next chapter.
    - brings you back to the top of the chapter section introduction page.
    - brings you to the top of the index section.
    - brings you to the exercises section.
    - brings you to the previous chapter.
