CHANGES TO URLS IN E-BIZ GUIDE

Change happens fast on the Internet, and that address you visited yesterday may not be there today. What follows is a list of what has changed to some of the Web addresses that appear in Prentice Hall's Guides to E-Commerce and E-Business. We will continue to update Internet addresses regularly.

Chapter 1, Introduction to E-Business and E-Commerce

In Table 1, show the URL for the G2G site as: http://www.fedworld.gov/fedservices
On p. 6, show the G2G Fedworld URL to: http://www.fedworld.gov/fedservices
On p. 6, change the Harrod's URL to: http://www.harrods.com

Chapter 2, Searching the Internet

On p. 25, Snap.com has become iNBC and is no longer the same kind of subject tree search site.
On p. 25, under the Subject Tree Search heading go to LookSmart (http://www.looksmart.com) instead of Snap.com.
On p. 28, under Your Turn section, the reference to Snap.com has changed to LookSmart: http://www.looksmart.com.

Chapter 3, Career Development

On p. 37 replace Yahoo.com/business/employment URL with: http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Employment_and_Work/
On p. 37, replace Virtual Job Fair www.vjf.com with Brass Ring at www.brassring.com
On p. 37, replace Yahoo job fair listing with: http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Employment_and_Work/Jobs/Job_Fairs/
On p. 37 Headhunter replaces Career Mosaic: http://www.headhunter.net.
On p. 38, change URL for Boston Globe's careers.boston.com to http://bostonworks.boston.com/
On p. 40, replace Purdue U's URL owl.englis.purdue.edu/files/35.html with http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/pw/p_yresum.html
On p. 43 Catapult on JobWeb site, is no longer in operation.
On p. 44, delete the paragraph about the Personal Values test from Financial Times (it's off the site and I can't find any reasonable substitute)
On p. 44 the URL for the Career Questionnaire changed to http://cbweb9p.collegeboard.org/career/bin/career.pl.
On p. 45, change the Career Key quiz URL to http://www.ncsu.edu/careerkey/
On p. 45, the Career Profile Test is no longer available.
On p. 46, delete the paragraph about the Job Briefcase self-test (no longer on the site)
On p. 46, CNET Tech Jobs Web site is no longer available.
On p. 47, Kaplan Career's 50 Practice Interview Questions Web page is no longer available.

Chapter 4, Distance Learning

On p. 48, replace the University of Phoenix's URL with its updated URL: http://www.phoenix.edu
On p. 48, replace ZDNet University with Element K at http://www.elementk.com/
On p. 48, replace Macquarie University with the School of Professional and Continuing Education at the University of Hong Kong at http://www.hku.hk.space
On p. 49, replace the education class offered at University of Birmingham in England with the consumer affairs diploma at Halesowen College in the United Kingdom at http://www.halesowen.ac.uk
On p. 50, under "General Information," delete Distance Learning Resource Network (not available any longer)
On p. 50, under "General Information," delete University of Illinois Online (not on line any longer)
On p. 50, under "Academic Credit," delete the paragraph about the West Suburban Post-Secondary Chicago consortium, www.wspsc.org (not online any longer)
On p. 50, under "Academic Credit," change the New Promise name to mindedge.com and change the URL to: http://www.mindedge.com
On p. 51, at top of page, change the U of Phoenix's old URL to http://www.phoenix.edu
On p. 51, the URL for the College for Financial Planning's CPE Internet site is now: http://www.fp.edu.
On p. 52, under "Personal Enrichment," delete the paragraph about learnitonline.com.
On p. 52, the URL for Champlain College Online changed to: http://www.champlain.edu/ccol/index.html.
On p. 54, the URL for the Champlain College Online sample course changed to: http://www.champlain.edu/ccol/sample.htm.
