Chapter 4 - GEOMETRIC CONSTRUCTIONS AND MODELING BASICS

  1. How can you divide a line into equal parts using sketching? Using your CAD system?

  2. How many ways can an arc be tangent to one line? To two lines? To a line and an arc? To two arcs? Draw an example of each.

  3. Sketch an equilateral triangle, a right triangle, and an isosceles triangle.

  4. Given a line, sketch another line (1) parallel to the first, (2) perpendicular to the first. Then draw a horizontal line through the intersection of the two lines. Finally, draw a vertical line through the intersection.

  5. Sketch a Venn diagram showing the three Boolean operators.

  6. What solid modeling primitives does your CAD system provide, if any?

  7. What is the difference between extrusion and revolution?
