Welcome!
We are pleased to announce the Fujitsu Version of COBOL: From
Micro to Mainframe, Third Edition. This new Fujitsu version parallels
our earlier work, but it has been updated to include documentation
for Fujitsu COBOL Version 4.0. (Those familiar with Version
3.0 should click here to learn about differences
in the new compiler. Anyone using Windows 2000 or Windows XP with
either version of the Fujitsu compiler should click
here for compatibility tips.) Additional information on Windows
XP compatibility can be found by downloading a second
document.
All listings in the text have been modified for the new compiler.
A new appendix on linking COBOL and Visual Basic has been added and
the set of student programming projects has been thoroughly revised.
The Fujitsu software has been upgraded to Version 4.0 and is provided
with the text at no additional cost to the student. Also available,
at no additional cost, is a new online
study guide (Companion Web site) that provides an interactive
review on a chapter-by-chapter basis. The site is of great value to
the student as it contains true/false, multiple choice, and fill-in-the
blank questions that can be taken for self-evaluation or e-mailed
to instructors.
We are also continuing to support the original Third Edition of
COBOL: From Micro to Mainframe written specifically for the Micro
Focus compiler. This edition contains two appendices that document
Micro Focus Personal Cobol, and the software may be bundled,
at an extra cost, with the text. Professors who opt for the Third
Edition also have the option to order the Net Express compiler
from Micro Focus.
