Listservs
Q: What is a listserv? A: A listserv is sometimes called a "mail explosion utility." Listserv members can send e-mail messages to a central location from where they are automatically passed-on to every member of the listserv. In other words, a listserv is a software application that sends mesages to every member who subscribes to the list. Subscribers can then discuss issues in an open forum, pose or answer questions, or simply comment on issues. Different listservs are geared toward different topics. For example, if you're interested in teaching mathematics, you might want to join the Tile.Net listserv. Be warned! Proceed with caution!! If you subscribe to many listservs, you will probably receive more e-mail than you have time to read. Below is a list of other multimedia links with instructions on how to join. To subscribe send an e-mail with no subject and type "SUBSCRIBE AWARE" with your name in the message body. For more in formation you may wish to consult the the AWARE Manual.
