Integrated Solid State Devices and Circuits

Syllabus

Texts:
Microelectonics: An Integrated Approach, Roger T. Howe and Charles G. Sodini Prentice Hall
Spice, Paul W. Tuinenga, Prentice Hall

Course Description:
Students will about solid state devices and microelectronic circuits. However, the material will be presented in an integrated fashion. The device physics will be developed to provide understanding of simple device operation and models in SPICE. Circuit applications of the devices will be discussed to provide a working knowledge of electronics. Spice assignments will be made to illustrate device and circuit concepts.

Course Objectives:
Students will become familar with the working of modern microelectronics circuits and devices. At the end of this year-long course, students should be familar with the basic building blocks of electronics, and understand how to construct real circuits using these building blocks.
