ABOUT THE AUTHORS


Dr. R. Wayne Mondy has been at McNeese State University since 1986. He is presently Professor of Management and holds the First Commerce Corporation Professorship. He has authored or co-authored seven college textbooks in a total of twenty-five editions, fifty-three articles, and twenty papers. He has co-authored the following books: Management: Concepts, Practices, and Skills (eighth edition), Human Resource Management (seventh edition); Personal Selling: Function, Theory and Practice, (fourth edition); Supervision (third edition); Management Concepts and Canadian Practices (second edition); Staffing the Contemporary Organization; and Management and Organizational Behavior. In addition to the 7th edition of Human Resource Management (Prentice Hall, 1999), Mondy also co-authored Human Resource Management: Canadian Edition (Prentice Hall, 1996), Administracion de Recursos Humanos (Prentice Hall, 1997), and HRM Chinese Edition (Prentice Hall, 1998). Current articles have been published in such journals as Business Journal, Journal of Education for Business, Human Resource Magazine, and The Journal of Business Ethics.

Robert M. Noe, Professor of Management at Texas A&M University-Commerce, has taught human resource management courses for over thirty years. For a dozen years during this time he also headed the Marketing and Management Department and directed TAMU-C's Small Business Institute.

Noe received BBA, MBA and Ed.D. degrees from the University of North Texas and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resource Certification Institute.

Prior to entering the teaching field, Noe was Divisional Administrative Systems Manager for Moore Business Forms, Inc. He has been a consultant to government and industry and has co-authored articles in numerous business journals. In addition to the 7th edition of Human Resource Management (Prentice Hall, 1999) Noe also co-authored Human Resource Management: Canadian Edition (Prentice Hall, 1996), Administracion de Recursos Humanos (Prentice Hall, 1997) and Staffing the Contemporary Organization (Quorum Books, 1988; reprinted by Praeger Publications, 1990). Noe has also edited study guides for the Human Resource Certification Institute. Noe is a member of Society for Human Resource Management and has served as a board member and secretary of the Human Resource Certification Institute.

Shane R. Premeaux is a professor of Marketing at McNeese State University and is an author with over sixty articles appearing in such journals as Personnel, Personnel Journal, Personnel Administrator, the Journal of Business Ethics, Transportation Journal, the Journal of Marketing Theory & Practice, the Logistic and Transportation Review, the Journal of Computer Information Systems, the Journal of Property Management, and the Journal of Management In Practice. He has also co-authored books entitled: Human Resource Management, Personal Selling: Function, Theory, and Practice, Supervision, Management and Organizational Behavior, and Management: Concepts, Practices, and Skills.
