The software generates professional-quality bar codes of all major symbols and sizes. These bar codes can be copied into the Windows clipboard and then into any Windows program (such as Word, WordPerfect, Ami Pro, and Excel). Bar codes can be printed by any printer supported by Windows.
Directions to Run B-Coder
When the program is installed, it will generates a folder called C:\BC-DEMO and install the appropiate files within. Go to that folder and then double click on the B-CODER application file to open the program.
Select the type of bar code you desire by clicking on B-Coder's Symbology option on the top toolbar. You can choose among such bar code types such as Code 39 (Normal and Full ASCII), UPC-A, and UPC-E. Then save your chosen configuration and close the Symbology toolbar by single clicking on Symbology. Additional options as to fonts, colors, and symbol orientation can be chosen by single clicking on the Preferences option on the toolbar and then selecting your choices. The Preferences menu choices can be saved and closed by single clicking on Preferences. (These options can also be chosen from the toolbar icons). Next enter the desired bar code height, width, and narrow to wide ratio, and comment line and bar code message main menu. You can access these choices by pressing the tab key on your keyboard.
By double-clicking your mouse anywhere in the B-Coder window, your bar code will be displayed and automatically copied to the Windows Clipboard. You can revise your selections by entering new values for height, width, narrow to wide ratio, and comment line and then double clicking on the B-Coder window to see the revised bar code.
To exit B-Coder, choose the Exit option under the File menu. You can also save the configuration you generated through the Save As Configuration option. Exit the B-Coder program and then open up a Windows program such as Word, Access, WordPerfect, Ami Pro, Excel, Pagemaker, Corel Draw, or Quark. Click on the Paste option. The bar code you just created in B-Coder will now be visible. Press the Print option to print the bar code. You can also save this bar code in any of these Windows formats.
To use advanced applications and for troubleshooting guidance refer to the B-Coder Help file in the B-Coder folder. The Print option for the help screens can be found in the File option.
