Do you dread your first interview? If so, you are not alone. Many people, even those who have survived numerous interview situations, feel nervous about walking into an interview. What can you do to help yourself to feel relaxed and at ease? Check out the following tips.

  • Plan your trip to the interview. Get directions if necessary. Find out where to park.

  • Make sure you arrive 10 to 15 minutes early -- never too early or too late

  • Make a stop in the restroom to do a final check on your appearance

  • Use the time spent in the waiting room to practice taking some deep breaths and relax

  • Check out some of the company's literature if it is available

  • Research the company or organization so that you know something about their operations before you go to the interview
