PREPARING FOR COLLEGE

You're going to need more than a scantron sheet and a No.2 pencil to be successful in school! College is a time to learn about yourself and the world around you while facing the challenges that lie ahead. Whatever preconceived notions you have about college, it might be best to set them aside while you enjoy new experiences and take the time to get involved in your school and its community. Here are a few tips to help you prepare for the biggest adventure of your life:

  • Maintain relationships with close friends - they'll be experiencing many of the same fears and concerns, and it will help to share them together.
  • Become familiar with your campus before classes actually start.
  • Be willing to meet new people with different interests and backgrounds.
  • Keep an open mind about your classes and professors.
  • Always carry enough pens for at least 2 other students to borrow.
